Hispanicize is a three-day-long event that took place on October of 2019. Prior to the event start date, I attended numerous meetings to guide me on how things were going to work as well as introducing me to the team. In the week leading up to Hispanicize, I assisted the team by creating gift bags for the guests and the attendees. Along with this, I assisted with making sure the guest list was accurate for the day of and sending emails to the guests with all instructions and information that they needed. I was provided with credentials to give me full access to all the panels that were being presented there and checked in with the supervisor in order to start my day there. Some tasks I completed while being a volunteer during the event was checking guests in by scanning their credential, checking guests into the event and into the panel, along with monitoring the attendance rate/panel attendance. I also assisted guests with any questions they may have in regards to timing and where certain seminars were located. Overall, I really enjoyed volunteering for this event because it was an event that represented my culture and those in the media and music industry that have an impact to it. It was an event that showcased their talents and allowed their voices to be the main attraction.
